This is a workshop I made for The Ceramics Congress in 2021. In this workshop I discuss the ideas and influences that have shaped my ceramic practice and give a detailed presentation of how I design and hand-stitch a fabric sampler which is then used to create the surface detail on my work. I demonstrate the slab building techniques I use to make a cup while incorporating the stitched pattern into the form.
